RK Accountancy are aware of their responsibility to ensuring equality for all and do not wish any language used within their job adverts or the site to exclude applications for suitably qualified individuals.


For the avoidance of doubt, the following terms have been defined:


Qualifications are given purely as a guide. Any qualification which is of equivalent value will always be accepted, whether this is a geographic or historical qualification.


Newly Qualified
The term newly qualified is used purely to illustrate that the position would suit somebody who has no previous experience as a qualified accountant, and that the organisation recruiting is prepared to invest in the individual in order for them to develop in line with their professional body’s guidelines. If this term is used, applications are always welcome from all qualified accountants.


Part Qualified
Part Qualified refers to somebody who has taken and passed at least one professional examination (the term ‘finalist’ refers to those taking their final professional examinations whose successful completion would lead to qualification).


Any job advertised as part-qualified does not exclude applications from qualified accountants, provided that they accept the terms of the job (i.e. salary and often at the lower end of the organisational hierarchy)


Qualified by Experience – QBE
This term refers to somebody who may have part completed their studies and/or has a significant period of work experience within the accountancy field. All other requisites of a job specification must be attained. The level of experience will be assessed against any academic criteria to ensure equal treatment of candidates.

Disciplinary action will be taken against any employee who is found to have committed an act of unlawful discrimination. Serious breaches of this Policy will be treated as gross misconduct as will sexual or racial harassment.


In the case of any doubt or concern about the application of this Policy in any particular instance, any member of staff or employee should consult their line manager.
