December key dates in the financial calendar

As you’re probably aware – the biggest financial concern throughout December is of course Christmas. As well as all the money spent, things that are work-related can move a lot slower throughout the month, due to Christmas shutdowns and busy periods.

Luckily, there are no notable dates until you approach the end of the month, after Christmas and into the new year.

30th December

If you are eligible to pay a Self-Assessment bill through your PAYE tax code, you can send your online return by this date. Tax will then be retrieved automatically by HMRC.

1st January:

This is the most important date to make a note of as the Brexit changes come into effect on this day. To find out what actions that your business is required to take then please visit https://www.gov.uk/transition
