RK Accountancy are currently recruiting for a Payroll Clerk to take on an interesting and challenging opportunity within the retail and service sector based in Preston. You will be requied to provide an effective and efficient payroll service for the groups central HR and Finance team whilst reporting directly to the Finance Manager.

Your New Job

Your duties as a Payroll Clerk will include processing weekly and monthly payroll for all sites, You will maintain excellent working relationships with various payroll vendors and guaranteeing all payroll data is collected and administered, ensuring attention to detail is paramount. You will also be responsible for overseeing all company benefits as well as generating payroll and ad hoc reports. You shall have a sound technical payroll knowledge and have the ability to carry out manual calculations and statutory deductions. You will be adept at dealing with SSP and SMP duties, as well as ensuring that year-end processes such as P60s and P11ds are issued. Your background and prior experience as a Payroll Clerk will enable you to be able to manually calculate N.I and tax.

Your Experience & Our Requirements

You will ideally have a minimum of 3 years ‘experience working in a similar role and have a clear understanding of the above listed duties, possess good technical skills including a good knowledge of Basic Microsoft packages, including SAGE and Excel, (professional Payroll qualifications are desirable but not essential). You will be a professional, self-motivated and highly organised individual with excellent communication skills, able to follow clear instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.

You’ll receive a competitive salary of £20,000 - £25,000 per annum, with a generous holiday and benefits package. You’ll receive ongoing training and support whilst in your role and will have the opportunity for growth and progression in your role as the business continues to expand.
